Funding
DISI is involved in projects aimed at three main targets:
- Frontier research
- Technology transfer
- International education of top level professional in ICT
At the same time the Department of Trento University is one of the main players in research and development of the Information and Communication Technology sector at local, Italian and European level.
The University of Trento in average supports DISI for a grand total of about 1.5 million euros (including cash, doctorate fellowships, technicians, etc.).
As a consequence the total income of DISI, used to cover its direct costs (indirect costs are covered by the University) is:

Legend
- Research Projects are research projects funded by funding bodies (e.g. the European Community, the Ministry of education)
- Industrial Projects are research, consulting, technology transfer, ... projects funded by companies and other entities
- Education and Mobility Projects are projects whose main goal is to provide fellowships (e.g. at the master and doctorate level) for students (graduate and undergraduate) and to fund mobility to Trento and from Trento for students, DISI members, visitors and collaborators. These projects are funded by many different entities, private and public (e.g. funding agencies, companies)
